Week, Weekly, Weekday, Woman, A Fable out of The Child and The Prophet

Out on the ocean, weekdays became weeks and weeks turned into months. The Child lost her feeling for time. They were on the sea. The Cild was looking down into the deep. The Prophet was tending to Water Lily.

A face in the ocean astounded her; a woman was looking at her.

Who is she?

The Child

"Prophet?"

"Yes, Child."

"There's a beautiful woman in the ocean."

"Oh?"

"With dark eyes and a smiling face."

"Oh."

"Prophet, you need to come over here. I think she needs help."

"I don't think so."

"Don't you care, Prophet?"

"Care about what?"

"The Woman in the ocean."

The Prophet

"Is she crying?"

"No, I told you she's smiling."

"So why should I come?"

"Because she's lying in the ocean."

"Describe The Woman, Child."

"Well, she's got hair like mine, but it keeps changing, and her eyes shine like multicolored marbles."

"Oh..."

"And her face is strong and proud as a lion, and she has a couple of wrinkles, but they make her even more beautiful, Prophet."

"Does she seem distressed?"

"No. Happy. She's still smiling.  Why?

"Then we'll leave her."

"But what if she's in danger?"

"She'll face them, Child."

"Prophet, I demand you help this woman to board Lily Pad now!"

"Look at The Woman again, Child."

The Child examined The Woman's face and gasped aloud in astonishment.

The Child

"Prophet! That's me."

  1. This is so beautifully coming to an end, Pat. Of course it's her, it's taken her a long while to recognise her own self. But she has! Thank you!

  2. So, I guess as long as the child recognizes her strength, she turns out just fine.

  17. Has she been unfamiliar with her own reflection thus far?

    1. Yes, Jeffrey, she has. This is the first scene where she gets a look at her own reflection. I've been presenting parts of the stories on the A to Z Blog Challenge since 2013 but never showed The Child as she really is, since she took off from a bank. However, that was in the very first episodes.

  18. I will be back to read the entire series. But this post felt like my mentor talking to me about life lessons... a few months ago. You have scripted it very well. Conveys a profound message in a simple way.
