IWSG DAY, DECEMBER 2, 2020, BREAKTIME By Pat Garcia

Hello Everyone,

It is IWSG Time!

IWSG is a writers' support group created and led by Alex Cavanaugh.

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

This group is an immense help to many of us who do not mind sharing our insecurities, our successes, or giving encouragement and support to others.

So, if you are interested and would like to join, the link below will lead you directly to us:

Breaktime by Pat Garcia

This year has been a severe year with lots of stress for me, and the pressure had nothing to do with Covid. My break times have helped me get through the year. I learned  some time ago to plan my time off in conjunction with the Bavarian School Calendar. When school is out in Bavaria, I take my breaks and step back to read and do book reviews of the many books I have purchased but have not yet read.

Therefore, I am looking forward to December 18th or 19th. That's when the Bavarian Schools go on their Christmas vacation, and so will I.

Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and a safe passage into the year 2021.

Shalom aleichem,

  2. We share more in common than writing; sever stress in 2020. During the years we have shared encouraging IWSG comments, I have come to admire and appreciate the wisdom you have shared with me and others.
May effortless solutions continue to flow into your life.

I like your holiday date and plans. I hadn't thought of formal commitment to days devoted to reading and reviews. I've always squeezed in time between other commitments (and felt guilty I wasn't meeting some self-imposed deadline). Reading at bedtime was OK.

Thank you for co-hosting our December IWSG.
Sending you thoughts of peace and joy.

    1. Good Morning Lynn,
Yes, we do have similarities. I started out trying to squeeze in vacation time but found that I was the one squeezed because I always felt guilty. Then my inner spirit led me to looking at the school holidays here in Bavaria. I tried it immediately because they celebrate Pentecostal holidays in June. Needless to say, I enjoyed those two weeks and since then, when they go on vacation I go on vacation. Reading, sitting in a cafe, or meeting friends that I haven't seen for ages and taking small trips does me so much good. I don't think about writing, and if it does come up, as it sometimes does, I explain to it that this break is healthy and helpful for the both of us. :-) And my writing usually agrees and goes back to sleep. :-)
      Sending you hugs.
      Take care and be safe.
      Shalom aleichem,
      Pat
