Tempestuous,Tergiversate, Tenacious, A Fable out of The Child and The Prophet

As the sun rose over the horizon, The Child awoke. The Prophet was still there, and she watched him sleep.

Lily Pad with Water Lily

Lily Pad began to move tempestuously.

That could only be Octavio this time of the morning.

The turbulence grew. Waves began to form, and she stood up.

Perpendicular to her she looked down at the water. Not Octavio, but a big black object was rising from the ocean deep. She blinked her eyes to make sure what she saw was really what she saw.

When the mammal reached the top, she stepped out of Lily Pad and onto its back.

Mr. Whale

"Mr. Whale, I'm so happy to see you. Please forgive me. I won't ever try to make you tell me where The Prophet is again."

With her little arms, she hugged him.

Mr. Whale hit the water with his fins twice and carried her out onto the ocean. The Child riding him like a sea horse.

The Prophet now awoke watched the two returning.

"Did you have a nice sleep, Prophet?"

"Yes, I did. Your singing soothes my soul. I see Mr. Whale is back."

"Yes, and I'm so happy."

"Did you really think Mr. Whale would tergiversate."

The Child

The Child sat up on Mr. Whale and frowned.

"Prophet, what on earth does tergiversate mean!"

"Don't shout, Child. I'm not deaf."

“Sorry, Prophet. What does tergiversate mean?"

"My you're  mighty tenacious, this morning.  Hungry?"

"Yes, and tergiversate?"

"We'll have seaweed pancakes."

"Okay with me, and tergiversate, Prophet?"

Mr. Eagle

"Look up at the sky, Child."

"Oh, No," shouted The Child.

"Gaaaak, Gaaaak, Gaaaak," said the bird.

"He didn't tergiversate either. No one is more faithful as your Mr. Eagle."

  4. I'm going to use my context skills and take a stab at the meaning of tergiversate. I'm going say it has the idea of faithful involved. Now if you had a T and F quiz, I'd jump on that in a heartbeat. :-)

  15. The prophet does not like to be questioned. Or does not like to answer the child, so the child can discover on her own.
