IWSG is a writers' support group created and led by Alex J. Cavanaugh.
At IWSG, we believe in the power of sharing and encouragement. Writers of all levels and genres can express their doubts and concerns without fear of judgment. Our community is a haven for all insecure writers and a source of encouragement and support for others.
If you're a writer seeking a supportive community, IWSG is the place for you. Join us and experience the benefits of sharing your journey with like-minded individuals. The link below will lead you directly to us.

Our Twitter handle is @TheIWSG and hashtag is #IWSG.
The awesome co-hosts for the November 4 posting of the IWSG are Kalpana, Kim Lajevardi, Rebecca Douglass, Jennifer Lane, and Cathrina Constantine!
Every month, we announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say.
Remember, the question is optional.
November 4 question - As a writer, do you have favorite themes that you like to explore in your stories? If so, what are they?

CHANGE HAPPENS
When I first started this blog, I looked for a symbol that would express where my mind was and follow me on this journey through life. It took me some time to find something that meant something to me and would help me keep my eyes open to the people in the world who needed to be heard, and to people's reactions as we reject those who are less fortunate than we are. I started writing about simple things like my relationship to the Bible and why it disturbs me that we overlook God. I write about what disturbs me. I see a world that has grown in selfishness, babies that die because of lack of food or medical care, women who are killed as they run and seek safety from bombs and high-powered rifles, hunger that sweeps the world, and yet the richest nations in the world throw food out every day because the majority can't pay for it.
I am not changing my direction, but enlarging it. I still write romance stories. Romance, when written well, changes people's hearts. I believe that.
However, my stories will dig deeper into children who lose their parents and end up in an orphanage until they reach an age where they are put out on the streets because they have outgrown the system. Other stories will look at the autism spectrum, where some people are classified only because they aren't like us; they're different.
This brings me to the eagle on my blog. That's my symbol. Like the eagle, I plan to fly high and look down at what I see and write stories in order to help people think, and maybe, just maybe, they will open their eyes to the catastrophe we are creating.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I'll see you next month.
Be safe!
Shalom Shalom,
Pat Garcia
