It is IWSG Time!
IWSG is a writers' support group created and led by Alex Cavanaugh.
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
This group is an immense help to many of us who do not mind sharing our insecurities, our successes, or giving encouragement and support to others.
So, if you are interested and would like to join, the link below will lead you directly to us:
Our awesome co-hosts for today are J.Q. Rose, Natalie Aguirre, and myself, Pat Garcia.
Submission: The Writer Magazine – Non-Fiction Challenge (Results Still Outstanding)
It’s Nobody’s Business But Mine by Pat Garcia
I don’t like sharing my secrets. Knowing that life here is not permanent, I don’t want everybody digging up bones that I have hidden. When I am gone, I want them to stay buried and go down to the grave with me.
That’s not being somber. It is a decision that I made some while ago.
Wishing all of you a beautiful warm and sunny June month.
Hi Pat, I appreciate that you decided not to share any secrets as well as the sound reason for that!ReplyDelete
It's my first time participating in the IWSG and I have a technical problem to resolve. Accidentally, I added the blog post link to the linky as opposed to my blog link. Then I added my blog link separately. How do I remove my blog post link from the linky? I would really appreciate your help. Thank you!
www.nooranandchawla.com (Leaving my blog link here because I don't use the blogger website I'm logged into for this comment)
Thank you for dropping by. Please ask Alex, our leader and the creator of the group. He will be able to help you with that. He is also responsible for the links
Couldn't agree with you more Pat about sharing secrets. Good luck with the submission. I hope you hear soon. Thanks for co-hosting the IWSG.ReplyDelete
Thank you. I hope I hear soon but such entries take time.
All the best.
I'm with you both on that! Good luck from me too :)Delete
We all have secrets we'd like to keep secret. Me too. Thanks for co-hosting with me this month.ReplyDelete
I'm so boring, I really don't have any secrets to dig up...ReplyDelete
Hi Pat, thank you for co-hosting this month. I did share a secret on my blog, but it was one that would be hard to discover its truth...ReplyDelete
Good luck! And, yes, some things are just private.ReplyDelete
I love your faithfulness in sharing your submissions and results. I agree about keeping your secrets to yourself. Glad you're co-hosting today!!ReplyDelete
And thanks for co-hosting today!ReplyDelete
Hi Pat! I love the way you are lucid and clear about so many things. I've often found that in many of your posts. Good luck with your submission! Thanks for co-hosting today!ReplyDelete
Thanks for co-hosting this month.ReplyDelete
I can respect your reason for not sharing your secrets.
If I have any, I don't mean to. I try not to have things to hide.
Fair enough. Some secrets should stay that way.ReplyDelete
https://youtu.be/o5p-uspcgRY Your post made me think of this song.
And I respect your decision and the reason for it, Pat. Thanks for taking on the task of co-hosting this month!ReplyDelete
Thanks for co-hosting, Pat. Now you've got my attention. Hope you have a wonderful IWSG Wednesday.ReplyDelete
You do you! Keep your secrets if it makes you happy. :)ReplyDelete
Thanks for co-hosting today!
I hear you about secrets. There are some secrets that will stay that way.ReplyDelete
Good plan - one I support!ReplyDelete
Good plan, there are some secrets I even keep from myself! :)ReplyDelete
Love you much!
I respect secret keeping. It's a job I'm not good at, however. heheheReplyDelete
Anna from elements of emaginette
Some secrets are better left unsaid. *thumbs up* :)ReplyDelete
Buried secrets are probably the most interesting. We'll never know though, will we? ;)ReplyDelete
Thank you for co-hosting.
I couldn't agree with you more, Pat. I struggled with this topic, almost skipped it, and came up with... something. But your post strikes more to my soul than my own.ReplyDelete
They are secrets for a reason. Thank you for hosting this month.ReplyDelete
Thanks for co-hosting today! Do you Pat. And you’re right. Some secrets should be allowed to die and not be unearthed
I agree. I dug up an easy "secret" that's more just something I haven't used in my writing. If I divulge the "big" ones, it will be for a reason and a purpose.ReplyDelete
Thanks for hosting this month!
I admire your decision to leave the past buried. You are an eloquent writer and every time I read your posts I'm transported to another space and time.ReplyDelete
Stay healthy, my friend.
You're perfectly entitled to keep them, besides, they're not secrets if we share them, are they?ReplyDelete
Wishing the same back to you, Pat. We're having storms today, but the sun will come through soon.ReplyDelete
Shalom aleichem, Pat. Thank you for co-hosting this month.ReplyDelete
Thanks for co-hosting!ReplyDelete
You and I are of similar mind about secrets. When we have secrets there is a reason. I blather on openly about many things, but other things would not serve me well to reveal and not enhance anyone else's life either.
Tossing It Out
It's morning here, Pat, so Good Morning from California! I read your comment on my post so here's another kudos to you.ReplyDelete
I'm with you, Pat. I keep my own counsel, and don't poke my nose into other people's business. Thanks for co-hosting this month!ReplyDelete
Thank you for co-hosting the IWSG today, Pat.ReplyDelete
I respect your decision. As the saying goes - Let sleeping dogs lie.
Have a wonderful June!
That is your privilege. Thank you for co-hosting today. Appreciate your time. Have a great rest of the week.ReplyDelete
Thanks for co-hosting, Pat! I'm with you on the secrets. I've shred some things in my life, but definitely not all. Stay safe and well!ReplyDelete
I didn't share any secrets either, but don't know that I have any. Some things my reader would not know by reading but they are not secrets. Too hard to keep I guess, lol. Happy IWSG. Hope you are staying well and safe.ReplyDelete
Thanks for hosting! That's why they are called secrets!ReplyDelete
Great attitude, Pat. I agree. Thanks for cohosting this month.ReplyDelete
I fully respect your answer, Patricia. They're not called secrets for nothing! I have some I prefer to keep very close to my chest. Maybe one day they will appear in my writing. Thank you for co-hosting this month!ReplyDelete
Wise words, Pat. There's something to be said for being discreet. Once something is out in the open, it's impossible to rein it back in.ReplyDelete
Thanks for hosting this month!
Everyone has to do what's best for themselves. Thanks for sharing your view!ReplyDelete
Good luck with your submission! I, too, have secrets that will always be solely mine. And that's the way it should be. Thank you for co-hosting!ReplyDelete
Yep! Secrets are secrets. I enjoy sharing many things about my life and I have a big mouth (I had to think hard for an answer about this month’s question, but it was more about “little known facts” than “secrets”), but other people’s secrets (and some of my own) stay safe and hidden. Thanks for co-hosting!ReplyDelete
Thanks for co-hosting this month Pat. So glad you've found what works for you with regard to secrets. Different strokes for different folks as the saying goes.ReplyDelete
Pat, thanks for hosting and for sharing this months. Stay safe!ReplyDelete
My great-grandmother had a saying: "Secrets are the pins that keep your sheets on the line, and not in someone else's yard,"ReplyDelete
Thanks for co-hosting!
You have a right to hold your truths and secrets to yourself! Good luck on your submission.ReplyDelete
Absolutely your call, Pat. You go! All the luck with your submission. Thanks for co-hosting IWSG. Be safe!ReplyDelete
There's a reason that secrets are secret, right?ReplyDelete
